Alexandria has had a pretty eventful start to summer, and we have LOTS of plans to go! The day after mommy's last day of work we had Grandpa's wedding rehearsal followed by the wedding and then cousin Joe's graduation party. Alex got to meet a lot of aunts and uncles and her Great-Grandparents for the first time! It was an exhausting weekend for her, but lots of fun too!
The next week was our first "real" week of summer. We spent the first two days recovering and waiting out thunderstorms. Then we went to the zoo with "auntie" Jill! Alex LOVED all the tanks. Fish and sea lions were fascinating for her. We also went to the Children's Zoo to pet goats and look at chickens and got to see the brand new Great Bear Wilderness (which was totally cool). ![]()
Alex is "crawling" around like crazy. She still isn't on her hands and knees, but she moves pretty darn quickly anyway! She still loves petting the doggies, and chased Coco (Aunt Angie's dog) around their kitchen yesterday! It's a good thing Colby's pretty patient with her. April just tries to avoid her. We're getting lots of giggles and smiles and silly baby talking (usually with her tongue hanging out). Her little personality is coming out more and more. She's such a silly little baby!

Alex loves bath time.... most of the time. She loves squirty toys (though she doesn't know how they work and gets very confuse when biting them results in a mouth full of water), bubble books and duckies! We've tried giving her a bath in the big tub a couple of times. At Nana's house she loved it. She even liked laying down in the tub and letting the water run in her hair (shallow water of course). At home we have a much more slippery tub and she fell over while trying to reach a toy. This did not make for a very happy baby. So we went back to her own smaller tub.
Last bath time Alex decided she was going to go bobbing for her toys. You know... like you would bob for an apple. She was not so happy when she realized this meant her head was under water. It only took a second for both Auntie Jenna and Mommy to rescue her, but it was enough to make for a very scared little girl. Luckily after getting Mommy soaking wet while getting hugs, she decided she'd go back in the tub and finished up her play time and washing up.
Today we had an interesting time. After a very fun evening, Mommy decided we should end our day with a nice bath and play time. We got Alex all ready and while Mommy was filling the tub, baby sat on the rug and squealed... then peed... Yup. Time to wash the rug. As Mommy was doing some last minute preparations, she sat Alex on her knee. Then placed Alex in the tub and found a nice big poop on her knee. YUCK! She quickly took them off and donned the robe hanging near by and proceeded to wash the baby's hair. Yes... she forgot that that poop had to go somewhere! When it started floating around Alex, Mommy quickly filled the rinse cup with clean water and tried to get the soap out of Alex's hair! One cup down and only a little fuss, 2 cups down and the poor baby had water all over her face and was SCREAMING. Mommy swept her out of the tub (and found the rest of the mess...ewww....) and tried to console a now cold, wet, and scared baby.
Needless to say, bed time was not as peaceful as we would've liked! If we keep this up, Alex is going to start HATING her bath time!
